Our refurbished raised flooring service not only helps reduce waste but also supports eco-friendly building practices. Our project at Larchwood House, Chineham Park, Basingstoke, perfectly demonstrates our expertise in this area. Working with M&M Demolition, we successfully managed the removal and refurbishment of raised flooring panels across two buildings scheduled for demolition.
The project spanned four weeks and involved the removal of raised flooring panels from multiple floors, including the ground, first, and second floors. Our team was tasked with lifting the panels in-situ, stacking them onto pallets (40 panels per pallet), and banding and loading them onto lorries for transportation to our warehouse. Prior to starting the project, we prepared detailed Risk & Method Statements and ensured our team was equipped with full PPE as directed by the client. To maintain compliance with health and safety protocols, we assigned a dedicated supervisor to oversee the project, liaise with the client, and conduct regular site inductions.
One of the key challenges we faced was the tight deadline, as the buildings were scheduled for demolition. To overcome this, we increased manpower on-site to accelerate the removal process and organised regular collections to ensure the panels were transported promptly. Our supervisor played a crucial role in maintaining clear communication with the client and ensuring all health and safety obligations were met. Despite the challenges, we successfully removed and transported all raised flooring panels within the four-week timeframe, ensuring minimal disruption to the client’s demolition schedule.
This project not only highlights our ability to deliver efficient and reliable services but also underscores our commitment to sustainability. By refurbishing the panels for reuse, we helped reduce waste and supported eco-friendly building practices, aligning with the client’s goals and contributing to a greener future.
