FOAMGLAS® can be used where access flooring is installed over a concrete slab directly exposed to the ground or cold rooms, when the use of the building demands habitable climatic conditions. Its high compressive strength allows the pedestals to be fixed above the insulation ensuring there is no cold bridge. Fieldmans Access Floors use Foamglas products in projects with such environment.
FOAMGLAS® is impenetrable by any form of moisture and it consists solely of carbon and crushed glass. Due to its manufacturing it is totally inorganic and therefore will not support the growth of bacteria such as mould and fungi. FOAMGLAS® is the only insulating material that will not burn or give off smoke, hence it is environmentally safe and even when it is eventually disposed of, it is completely free of CFCs and HCFCs.
Why use FOAMGLAS® with Raised Access Flooring?
Raised Access flooring is supported up from the floor by pedestals, and with most types of insulating materials, they have to be cut and fitted around the pedestals meaning that there are small but frequent spots that are not insulated. However, FOAMGLAS® neatly fits on top of the pedestals, thus maximising insulation and producing perfect raised access flooring.
Fieldmans Access Floors Ltd has been successfully installing raised access floors across London, all of the UK and abroad since 1993, quality and client satisfaction are always the highest priority .
